Dear Friends,

Thank you for your presence at the community’s Day of Mindfulness this past Sunday 🙂

Here are links to a few resources which may encourage all of us to continue practicing being present in our everyday living, outside of the DOM:

* Mindful Sitting & Mindful Walking – instructions and some additional insights.

* The 5 Contemplations for Mindful Eating

* Songs for the Practice (“Plum Village songs”)

* How To Give Yourself a One-Hour Total Relaxation

If you would like to practice more frequently with a small informal group every 2nd Sunday of the month, drop us a note at plumvillagesingapore

And last but not least, if you have any comments or feedback, or just want to say hi, please email us at plumvillagesingapore. It is a delight to have a community to practice together!

A Message; A Prayer for Thay

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our beloved teacher is not well. There is an infection in his lungs. He cannot sleep, and until he ate a little yogurt today, he had not eaten for three weeks. His energy is very low! Even so, he gave a 20-minute discourse yesterday on the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path to his spiritual children during the Italian retreat.

Plum Village asks that we pray for Thay, that we practice sitting and/or walking meditation, in order to calm ourselves. We can visualize his kind face and compassionate heart, as we send him energy.

We are asked to inform our Sanghas.

We must stay calm and strong, so we can help him.

Love and Trust,

Stepping into Freedom – Stepping into Joy

The wish of the Plum Village monastics was to offer as many tools as possible for developing the insight of Interbeing by the use of mindful breathing, sitting, eating, walking, deep listening and loving speech. Israelis, Palestinians and Internationals would have the opportunity to learn the skillful means to generate understanding and compassion in their daily lives.

Breathe. Smile.
